Cuerda

Cuerda is a textile piece that has been woven in two stages. The first was in conjunction with the performance "bien cualquiera, bien mestizas", in which the post-colonial trauma was addressed through the figure of the strawberries and “their blood”.

The white cloth was stained with the remains of the strawberry performance and after that,I have decided to keep the strawberry marks for months. The second part of the piece is born after, at the moment of embroidering the dirty cloth, loaded with a story that nobody wants to tell. On the stains are embroidered letters that together write "my hands are tearing apart from holding the distance", a phrase that is born from the pain of migration and the experiences of movement between south and north.
