This work proposes a performative scenario as a research sample to rehearse a horizontal, democratic and inclusive relationship with the public. The performer wears a large cloth made with Whipala flags, used during the recent protests in Chile and Latin America and sewn in the form of a poncho.
Surrounding the cloth there is a set of cards that graphically resemble those used in elementary schools to learn new vocabularies. The cards are assembled according to a specific color code and each one contains a word in Spanish, Mapudungún or Quechua on one side, and some phrases on the other.
After a brief explanation of the unfolding of the performance through a sound recording, the piece invites the audience to choose a card/word and place it in front of the performer. The word will then be translated or the meaning of the word will be explained, sometimes in a very factual and effective way, sometimes unfolding a longer narrative with personal anecdotes; and most of the time, showing the colonial travel in time of the language itself.
